Whitney's performances

Whitney gave us two great performances this month. On December 15th she was a clown in her 2nd grade class play titled "The Villain and the Toy Shop." It was a very cute melodrama and she was the most darling clown EVER! She remembered all her lines and even did an awesome cartwheel along with one of her lines on stage. Her class sang some Christmas songs and then got a visit from Santa. Chris was not able to be there, but I got it all on tape and we both agree she (and her class) did a terrific job. BIG "Thanks" to our friends and neighbors The Waltons for coming to support Whitney on her special night. :)

Whitney's second performance this month was at her Christmas Dance Recital for Elite Dance Productions. She chose to take a Jazz class rather than combo this year, and was one of three dancers in the class. She loved her new costume, knew the dance well, and is becoming a very talented dancer. We are so very proud of her and look forward to seeing more great dance performances in 2009 at Lagoon and the Spring recital.

A Christmas Surprise

We've received an early Christmas surprise and wanted to share it with all of our family, friends and loyal blog readers....

We are expecting a new arrival early July 2009!!
Yes, this is a surprise to everyone! A welcome surprise!
We are experiencing all sorts of emotions with this news...happiness, excitement, wonder, worry and sickness (the last 2 our mine! :)) Whitney needed a little bit of convincing that this is a GOOD thing, and has now decided that it is "very nice of Heavenly Father to send someone for Lindsie to play with." She is very hopeful for a baby brother this time around and is glad to hear that she still won't have to share her room. After all, she's the BIG and OLDER Sister who gets to help Mom take care of two babies! :) It's still hard for her to comprehend that Lindsie will get bigger and be almost 2 years old when the new baby arrives. I love all her thought processes and questions, and every day she says..." I can't believe we having another baby!" My thoughts EXACTLY!!

Big thanks to you ALL for your love and support! We'll keep you posted... Nic

Two Thumbs UP!!

Yes, two thumbs up and 5 stars! I was worried I would be disappointed, but NO! I LOVED the movie and LOVED Edward! I highly recommend you all see it (even if you think it will ruin your own visions of Edward and Bella). I can't wait to see it again...and take Chris so he can see what the obsession is all about.
P.S. I only hope they find a new Jacob for the next movie. I just can't see past the actors prior "Shark Boy" role. I hated that movie! Every time "Jacob" showed up, I couldn't help but laugh! :0)

Growing up too fast

This weekend we celebrated Lindsie's first birthday! What happened to my baby? She's growing up too fast! She's been walking for the past month and is understanding so much about what goes on around her. She's getting all four of her molars this week and has been covered with snot and slobber. :0) She loves to say "hi" and wave to everyone (including total strangers). Overall she's a pretty happy little person but is very strong willed and independent. Much more so than Whitney was as the same age. She keeps me on my toes and I'm enjoying her as much as possible. She's growing up too fast and before I know it she'll be 7 like her big sis. Happy Birthday Lindsie! We love you!!

Halloween Witches

A few pictures from Halloween. Whitney loves Halloween and I think Lindsie enjoyed it as well. She loved transferring the candy from one bucket to the other and by the end of the night LOVED wearing her hat. (She won't wear a headband or bow, so go figure.) Whitney had a blast trick or treating with friends from the neighborhood and is already talking about what she wants to be next year.

Made me laugh :0)

Take a look at the poll to the right. What's your vote? I saw this today on Facebook and it totally made me laugh! I have my ideas as to the results, but vote and let's see who gets the majority.

OK, so Twilight was the BIG winner!! Not that it was surprise to any of you! :) I'm so excited for the movie...and even more so now that I got free tickets to one of the big event showings at Jordan Commons on Saturday!! Thanks Betty and Allstate!

Shaylee's Wedding

I'm a couple weeks late at posting these, but I finally just downloaded all the pictures from my camera. Our good friend Shaylee got married on October 10th. Whitney was thrilled to go to the reception and was very interested in all that was going on. She didn't want to miss a thing! Anyone needing a flower girl for their wedding? Let us know...she's ready and waiting for her chance! She's always loved weddings and brides, but this is the first wedding she's been old enough to remember and understand what's happening. Anyway, she was really cute about it and enjoyed watching them cut the cake and Shaylee's dance with her Dad. :) Congratulations Shay and Nick!! Thanks for letting us enjoy your special day with you!

Which Twilight Female are You?

I saw this on KTB's blog and decided to see who I might be in Twilight. I was surprised! Didn't think I'd be an Esme. Check it out...who are you? Can't wait to see the movie! I still want to find some friends to go with too. Any takers? I'll go North or South with anyone who's interested. :)

You are thoughtful and care very deeply for your family. A loving home is of great importance to you and you always try to make people feel welcome. Although you have a great capacity to love, you also have a great capacity to hurt, so at times you can be sensitive. You're firm when you need to be, but people trust your judgment and appreciate the kind way you always handle things.
Is this me? Interesting huh?

Gearing up for Halloween

Last weekend the girls tried on their witch dresses. Every year for the last few years my parents have taken the grand kids to "Witches Night Out" at Gardner Village. Both my mom and dad dress up with the kids and take them to see all the witches displayed and be a part of all the activities offered for the event. I've never been, but I hear that it's a lot of FUN! It is a highlight of the season for Whitney and she is counting down the days! Lindsie won't be going to witches night, but doesn't she look so cute! She loved watching the girls and was so interested in what they were doing. :)

Anyone interested in going to the "prom" and to see "Twilight"? I'd love to get a group together to at least go see the movie. Let me know...

Time Flies

Yes, time is flying by way too fast! Whitney is in the 2nd grade...Lindsie's almost walking and nearing her 1st birthday...we've been in our house 2 years already...and Christmas is right around the corner. Crazy!!
The week Whitney started school, she begged me to take her to get a haircut. I finally agreed and she hopped into the chair and told the girl she wanted it cut to her chin. Yikes! It looks darling on her, I just hate how much harder it is to get her ready in the morning. No more quick ponytails :( One the same note, I WISH Lindsie had enough hair to get into a ponytail (or do anything)! I try my best to slick it down to her head, but it just stands right back up. Forget headbands and bows...she thinks they taste better than they look! :)
We had two new babies born in our families recently. Nate and Kimi (Chris' brother) had a baby boy late August, and my sister Natalie (and Cam) had a baby boy on September 7th. They are both so cute and Whitney loved holding and kissing them. This is the first boy on my side of the family, so he's going to get a lot of attention. Poor guy...he'll probably love playing with barbies and dressing like a princess some day too. :)
Lindsie is VERY active these days. She crawls so fast and is into EVERYTHING!! We've done our best to barricade her into the family room and kitchen. She gets so upset when she's left out and "behind bars." Chris jimmied two gates in the entry to keep her from going up the stairs. She goes up really well, but can't get down. The first place she heads when she finally makes it up....Whitney's room of course!

Beautiful Girls

I haven't posted in quite some time, I know. I have been waiting and am so excited to finally post these darling pictures of the girls. They were taken in early August, but I just received the disk in the mail this week. I LOVE every picture. The photographer (Joy) did a great job! I'm so impressed with her work and hope to have her do some pictures of our family some day soon. There are too many to post them all, so here are some of my favs!
