Lazy Sunday

Today has been a pretty lazy day.  It's Stake Conference, so no Primary responsibilities. :)  The kids are enjoying playing together (which doesn't happen all the time), and i find myself looking at our blog and debating whether or not to update?  The kids have grown and accomplished so many things in the last six months...where would i even start? I know that many of my friends and family and stopped blogging and rely on FB to share their news and photos. Guess I'm just leery about what goes on that sight and is it really "protected" or "private"?  My blog feels more like a mini scrapbook that my kids can someday look at and read to know what happened in our family over the years.  I can see from our stats who is viewing the blog, and feel a little more at ease with the audience.  It may be time in the near future to go "private" with the blog.  If you read this and would like to be added to our small list of readers, please give me your thoughts and make sure I have your email address.  :)  Thanks!!

Here are a few highlights so far this year...
Lindsie learned to snow ski!!  She went 3 times this spring and did very well.  I was super impressed with how quickly she picked it up and how happy she was to learn.  I expected a day full of whining and crying from her and was shocked when there wasn't ANY!!!  Way to go Lindsie!!  I look forward to next winter when she can come with us more often and become an even better skier.

March was a big month for Linds....she also learned how to ride her bike without training wheels!!  Once she made up her mind to try, there was no stopping her.  It took a few weeks to master stopping and starting on her own, but now she is everywhere and loves to go on bike rides around the block.  I couldn't keep up with her on Whitney's scooter so Chris bought us bikes for Easter so that we could go on rides as a family.  It's been a lot of fun!

Whitney's last few months have been consumed by dance and dance competitions.  She is becoming an amazing dancer, and her team has done extremely well at competition.  They are a great group of girls, who work well together and are all good friends.  We are so proud of Whitney and her accomplishments in dance, school, skiing, and all the help she is to me here at home.  She is a very talented, amazing, loving and kind person, who makes me want to be a better mom and friend to her.  xo whit!!  This is a video of Whitney and her team doing their lyrical dance at competition.  It is so beautiful and an amazing song!  This dance was a huge secret to all the parents before competition season began.  When I first saw it, I cried (and if you know me, you know that i do not cry!). :)
So the conversion of this video really messed up the quality...sorry!  Whitney is the middle and begins the dance.  If i can figure out how to get the quality better I will put it in a new post.

Colin makes me smile!  He is so funny, and such a boy!!  He has found a new love for "dress up" and anything super hero.  You might be able to tell in the picture of him on the bike (above), that even his helmet and shirt are super hero.   He is my little buddy when Lindsie is at preschool, and we have a great time. Even if it is just a trip to Costco.  After we drop her off at school he will ask... "mom, we go to a store?"  Meaning that he wants to go to a store and shop. What's not to love about that...right?  When we are home, he will play great by himself with his toys, but he also loves to play outside in the circle with all the neighborhood kids and his sisters.  He can peddle his big wheel and is so very proud of himself!! Nothing makes him more happy than when he gets to drive one of the "cars" in the neighborhood. (even if it is pink!!)  His birthday is coming up in July and he is desperately wanting a power wheels jeep to ride in just like our neighbor Fisher.  My favorite thing about Colin at this stage...he is POTTY TRAINED!!  Hooray!!  He loves to wear his "big boy underwares" and pee outside in the bushes when he doesn't think he can make it in without an accident. LOL  Here are a few of my favorite pictures of Colin over the last few months...

And finally, to end this very long post...A picture of my cute kiddos on Easter Sunday...
Enjoy and thanks for reading.  xo, nicole
